Secret Santa Soiree

I recently hosted my friends for the exchanging of our Secret Santa gifts at my apartment. Cramming 9 girls into a studio is no easy fete, but I think I’ve figured out a layout that involves moving my large couch that can accommodate everyone.

Please note I worked from home the day I put this together, but easy appetizers are much more fun than a formal dinner party and includes less cleanup.

Here was my menu:

  • Skinnytaste Zuccini Fries
  • Pioneer Woman’s Artichoke Dip
  • Pigs in a Blanket
  • Joy of Cooking Lemon Rosemary Chicken Skewers
  • Skinnytaste Broccoli Macaroni and Cheese
  • Cheese Plate

And here are the final products! (Excuse the dug into cheese plate. I forgot to grab a picture beforehand. Also, my friends and I are obsessed with cheese so there was no chance that anything was going to be left at the end of the night.)

Tea at The Langham

Here in Chicago we’ve been under a cold spell for the last few days. In order to combat that I’m trying to stay in the holiday spirit with festive activities. One of which happened on Friday when my mom and I started a new tradition by taking the day off of work and having the Wedgewood Tea Service at The Langham.

The gorgeous Pavilion Room, decorated with Christmas wreaths, ornaments and trees, makes the experience truly feel like you are in a winter wonderland. Here are a few photos from Tea for Two.

Tea includes a complimentary glass of Prosecco, but there is a tea cup next to me ready for my Silk Road Tea selection.

The gorgeous savories including cucumber tea sandwich, curry chicken salad, grilled octopus, tuna salad and the most delicious butternut squash tart with roasted kale.

The holiday desserts did not disappoint either.
